Can Tho – Tra Su – Chau Doc Day Tour

Morning

07:00, The bus picks up the group at the hotel. Guests depart for Chau Doc, beginning the Can Tho – An Giang – Chau Doc – Tra Su 1-day tour. Traveling along National Highway 91, the group passes through Long Xuyen, homeland of the late President Ton Duc Thang. Your journey will pass vast rice fields — the “soaring stork wings” typical of large-scale rice cultivation in An Giang — and the distinctive Thot Not fields rich in Khmer Southern-Vietnamese Mekong Delta heritage.

The group visits the Bà Chúa Xứ Temple — the major pilgrimage center in the Mekong Delta, renowned for the festival Bà Chúa Xứ Núi Sam Pilgrimage (April 24 lunar calendar), recognized as a national-level festival in 2001. Guests may pray for peace and blessings for their family and loved ones.

Arriving at Tra Su Melaleuca Forest, guests will:

Take a photo at the beautiful “Cầu Kiều” bridge, then board a **“Tắc Ráng” – waterway boat** to cruise through the freshwater flooded forest of Tra Su Melaleuca Forest — a vivid representation of the old-time freshwater wetland ecosystem of the Mekong Delta. Guests will glide among fragrant lotus blossoms and dark green water. Optionally, they can trek on the ~2 km bamboo walkway (a record-holding walkway under the Guinness Book of Records in Vietnam), or experience riding **“three-leaf boat”** to explore the area of storks and herons nesting and raising chicks (boat fee self-paid). From the observation tower, enjoy the panoramic view of endless melaleuca forest and flocks of storks soaring freely.

Lunch

The group enjoys lunch inside Tra Su Forest with local specialties, and free time to rest within the melaleuca forest.

Bus then takes the group to Ta Pa Pagoda — also known as “Mountain Pagoda” or “Chua Chon-Num” in Khmer. In addition to admiring the unique architecture of Ta Pa Pagoda and learning about the Southern-Vietnamese Khmer Buddhist culture, guests can soak up the fresh, green natural scenery. The pagoda sits on Ta Pa hill, rising up to 45m — surrounded by vast wild fields — adding a dignified and majestic aspect to the site.

Guests will also check in at the Ta Pa Fields lying beneath the foot of Ta Pa hill and “Co To”. The Ta Pa fields are considered the most unique rice-fields in the Mekong Delta, due to the Khmer traditional “Vần công” farming method.

Afternoon

14:30, The group departs back to Can Tho.

Upon return to Can Tho, the bus drops off the group at the original pickup point. The tour guide thanks the guests, says goodbye — concluding the tour.
